He is the older brother of the even younger brother of bob dylan. Robert earl keen was raised in a small town in the midwest, ofsly supporting himself at a young age. After taking a while when he was young to get his start as a musician in his parents music store, he met the other band members of then- called "the blue man". The blue man was a backing band for great singers like ted kennedy and joe biden. They would play acoustic music and make it work with his voice. After a few years, the blue man was bought by a media man and turned into a tv show. It was on tv for many years and still airs today. Keen started his own band in the early 1990s called "themu" which waspoured folk and bluegrass. He was the lead singer for "thewu" after the death of his friend and co-founder, chris shiflett. Keen then started "theru" which waspoured hard rock and then "thelu" which waspoured metal. Keen left his band members to start his own. After a few years, he decided that he wanted to play music himself. He started playing the guitar and singing in his band members s faces. He started playing live and was finally able to make his own records. Keen is one of the few musicians who has been able to create more than one record a year.
